General Manager

The General Manager is the Chief Executive Officer and represents the Blue Water Area Transportation Commission.

He works with staff and the Blue Water Area Transportation Commission to manage all areas of the transit system. He establishes the roles of other Commission management personnel and assigns duties to personnel. He also directs marketing, customer service, policy development and analysis and planning. Blue Water Transit’s General Manager constantly monitors and measures service performance by establishing goals, gathering data, identifying problems and creating solutions. He gives special attention to ridership and performance.

The General Manager plays a prominent role in setting the annual budget, including maintenance, procurement of equipment and employee wages and benefits. He plays a key role in generating revenue for the Commission by creating partnerships with federal, local and state government elected officials and bureaucrats. He communicates with elected officials to make them aware of the specific needs and funding requests of the Commission.
