Natural Gas Vehicles

Blue Water Area Transit operates the fleet of busses on compressed natural gas (CNG). Buses are fitted with storage tanks that hold natural gas at 3600 pounds per square inch. The engines are designed to run on CNG and greatly reduce pollution. The benefits of using CNG includes savings on the cost of fuel (compared to gasoline useage), 95% reduction in the amount of particulates (soot), 90% reduction of NOX, and a 21% reduction in other greenhouse gases versus diesel.
